The Winning Mobile

Minshar School of Art and Design won the title of Outstanding School in the mobiles competition ran by the 100 Years of Tel Aviv Celebrations Committee. The jury built by representatives of the Arts Departments of the City Municipality, has chosen a model from each of art and design schools in Tel Aviv, which participated to the competition. The winning models have been produced in real size and positioned in the front area of Tel Aviv Art Museum, to be exposed to the public in a ceremony which took place last evening with the participation of the students from the different art schools in the city. Apart from Minshar, the other schools to participate were JumpCut, the film editing school, the Avni Institute and the Kibbutzim Seminar.

Minshar School's winning mobile "You are here", has been created by Aviv Maoz, Sivan Yechezkeli and Yaron Haviv. The piece is a 3D map of Tel Aviv, in which appear most of the central roads of the city, the result reminds Japanese trees and nature illustrations. The parts of the sculpture turn around themselves as an allegory to the "Non-Stop City". At the end of the exhibition in the Museum's area the mobiles will positioned in different squares and areas of the city.
